As a new client, you may be surprised when our first meeting doesn’t focus on how much you have in savings, investments and assets, but on what motivates you and what you want to do in life. It’s not the standard approach, but it’s what demonstrates the difference between a traditional financial planner and a lifestyle financial planner. With lifestyle financial planning, the focus is very much on you.
What to expect
- We will send you a client discovery form (online) before your meeting so we can determine which of our advisers is best positioned to help you
- Once we receive your returned form, we arrange a 15-minute telephone call to clarify any questions that either of us might have
- Next, we have an initial 1-hr meeting, either face-to-face or via zoom
- We cover the cost of our first meeting. There is no charge for our time as we simply wish to explore whether we are a good fit
- There are no obligations. If you decide we are not the advisers for you, you are free to walk away at any time
- There’s no need to bring any documents or paperwork. Our main focus at this meeting is to find out about you, the current challenges you’re facing your short and long-term goals
- This is also an opportunity for you to find out about us and ask us any questions about who we are and what motivates us
- If we both feel that we would have a good client-advisor relationship, and once we have a full understanding of your needs, we explain our fees and send you a consent form so that we can hold your data
- You are free to think things over or to ask us any further questions that you have. Then, when you are ready, simply return the form and we will get the process started
